Requirements for internships at Inclusion
Internships are open to recent graduates, or degree students studying a relevant discipline and nearing the end of their course of study. Preference will be given to candidates with research skills, an excellent level of written English and the ability to write clearly and concisely.
About Inclusion
Inclusion is an independent organisation dedicated to promoting social justice and tackling disadvantage. We work with the public sector, voluntary organisations, business and trade unions. We provide both research and consultancy services and policy and strategic development support.
We work closely with the Government to implement ideas and with people who actually deliver policy at the frontline. We specialise in a range of social policy areas including: welfare to work, learning and skills, equality and diversity, and drugs and crime.
Inclusion publishes a series of handbooks, which are invaluable reference guides for those involved in the welfare advice and employment sector, or seeking information on the financial support and welfare to work programmes currently available to those moving towards work. The handbooks cover benefit entitlements, financial support in and out of work, learning and training provisions and government employment programmes.
Work undertaken
We are looking for a publications intern to join our team and help produce the handbooks. Your duties will include:
- researching welfare to work programmes
- re-drafting and updating existing sections of the handbooks
- producing figures to illustrate the text
- fact-checking
- indexing.
This is an exciting opportunity to be a named contributor to a published handbook, alongside experts in the benefits field.
