
Dave Simmonds OBE is the co-founder and Chief Executive of Inclusion. He has been involved in social exclusion, labour market and regeneration policy for the past 23 years and is one of the UK’s leading commentators on welfare-to-work issues. Dave has been a special adviser to the House of Commons Work and Pensions Select Committee and a Beacon Council specialist panel member, and he currently advises on the OECD Local Economic Employment and Development programme.
Dave has expertise in a number of areas, including labour market economics and policy, disadvantage and social exclusion, learning and adult skills policy, regeneration and neighbourhood renewal, social inclusion and diversity policies, area-based initiatives, and quantitative and qualitative research methodologies. He has experience of working with a range of organisations, from local community groups to government at senior levels, and was awarded an OBE in the honours list for summer 2005.
Previously, Dave worked as a director for the National Lottery Charities Board and for the National Council for Voluntary Organisations.
