
Laurie is a Researcher at Inclusion, with experience of conducting social research across a range of policy areas, including welfare-to-work, employment rights, equality and diversity and social exclusion. In particular, he has expertise in qualitative research, with skills in carrying out literature reviews, in-depth interviews and focus groups with both service-users and stakeholders. Laurie is also adept at quantitative research, in survey design and analysis and secondary data analysis. He has significant project management experience and has managed and conducted evaluations.
Before joining Inclusion, Laurie completed a six-month secondment with the Trades Union Congress, where he spent three months managing a mapping study for the government-funded London Vulnerable Workers Pilot, and three months with the Commission on Vulnerable Employment. For the commission, Laurie managed the creation of worker, union and employer case studies, conducted interviews with key stakeholders, and researched and wrote reports.
Laurie is skilled in using SPSS, Atlas.ti qualitative analysis software and SNAP survey design software.
