Michela Franceschelli

Michela Franceschelli

Michela is a Researcher at Inclusion, and has in-depth knowledge of issues pertaining to homelessness, education and skills, equality and diversity, ethnicity, and migration. She has four years of policy research experience in the field of learning, and particular expertise in qualitative methods, including computer-aided analysis. She has conducted interviews and focus groups with young people, refugees and asylum seekers, and people from minority ethnic groups, along with managing and designing student satisfaction surveys and minority ethnic student surveys in a further education setting.

Since joining Inclusion, Michela has overseen a study on homelessness and employment in Europe for Off the Streets and into Work, and she has been involved in producing a literature review for MENTER, identifying the barriers that ethnic minority groups face in accessing skills, employment and enterprise services in the east of England. Michela has also carried out a survey with accompanying analysis for the Learning and Skills Council, to investigate the impact of further education learning on employability. Currently, she is managing the evaluation of Pathways to Employment for St Mungo's, a programme delivering holistic support to homeless people in the areas of employment, training and housing.

Prior to joining Inclusion, Michela worked at Ealing, Hammersmith and West London College. She has also worked for EduAction, an education research consultancy agency, and the Office for National Statistics, and she has conducted social research in Italy and the UK. Michela has experience of using SPSS, Endnote and Nvivo7 qualitative analysis software.
