International Convention Centre, Birmingham 25 & 26 June 2008
This years' Welfare to Work UK Convention was the biggest ever. With over 900 delegates, 30 exhibitions, and 90 sessions, the Convention has proved itself to be the most significant so far.
The Convention is the premier annual event for all those involved in delivering support and advice to people who are out of work. Each year delegates from across the UK gather to hear the latest developments and best practice case studies.
Welfare to Work UK Convention 2008 brought together policy makers and practitioners to discuss and debate the latest developments in welfare reform. Through a mix of in-depth policy sessions and case studies the convention provided the opportunity for practitioners and policy makers to share experiences on the challenges and opportunities of integrating skills and employment, delivering a reformed welfare state, closing the gaps between the most disadvantaged groups by making work pay, reducing child poverty and empowering local areas to play a greater role in reintegrating people back into the work force.
The convention shines the spotlight on good practice and innovative delivery and will provide a forum for policy makers and practitioners to share their expertise on what works in the delivery and management of employment and skills provision.
