Promoting social inclusion in the labour market

Our projects

Welfare Reform and Universal Credit

Welfare Reform and Universal Credit

The government has committed to carrying out the biggest shake up of the welfare and benefits system for 60 years. Here at Inclusion, we are committed to closely monitoring the progress of the reforms and asking the questions that matter.
Child poverty

Child poverty

All major political parties in the UK have committed to eradicating child poverty by 2020. Inclusion’s research work in this field has a two-fold purpose: to implement the policy needed to achieve this ambition and to understand the multi-faceted nature of child poverty at a local level and its impact.
Skills and employability

Skills and employability

Inclusion is an expert on the labour market, skills and employment. Our research projects in this area push the boundaries, striving for deeper understanding and practical solutions. We put the spotlight on welfare to work programmes, the benefits system, worklessness, sustainable employment and learning at all levels.
Supporting disadvantaged groups

Supporting disadvantaged groups

Social inclusion is the name of our game. Our research projects in this field seek to examine and challenge the lot of the most disadvantaged in our society, in order to stimulate change. We put the spotlight on homelessness, ex-offenders, lone parents and migrant workers.
Localism

Localism

The government has turned the tables on localism: top down governance from Westminster is out and more powers for local government, including policy-setting and budget management, is now the name of the game. Inclusion carries out innovative research at a local level to gain a better understanding of local government, communities and individuals.

Department for Work and Pensions programmes

Inclusion has its finger on the pulse of DWP programmes. We monitor and evaluate government initiatives, consistently measuring their success through the lens of the workless and disadvantaged.
