Employment and skills

Care to Learn Tracking - Learning and Skills Council

Quantitative CATI survey of 1,350 young parents who received Care to Learn funding for childcare during the academic year 2006/07.

Impact of Learning on Employability - London - Learning and Skills Council

Inclusion conducted analysis of 2,679 learners who attended learning providers in London. These were interviewed as part of the 2007 national survey 'Impact of Learning on Employability'.

Inclusion conducted fieldwork to test the National Institute for Clincal Excellence's guidance for the management of long-term sickness absence and incapacity for work programme.

Child poverty

Can work eradicate child poverty?

Inclusion was commissioned by the Joseph Rowntree Foundation to write an essay on the possible extent to which tackling worklessness can contribute to the eradication of child poverty by 2020.

Child poverty toolkit - London councils and individual local authorities

To support local authorities in their contribution to the national child poverty target, Inclusion and CPAG developed a web-based toolkit.

Equality and diversity

BME barriers to access skills, employment and enterprise services - MENTER

Inclusion was commissioned by MENTER, a regional network working with ethnic minority voluntary organisations and communities, to identify the barriers that ethnic minority groups face in accessing skills, employment and enterprise services in the East of England.

Inclusion was commissioned by the National Audit Office (NAO) to examine how ethnic minority employment in the UK can be increased.

Improving partnerships

Enfield Skills Strategy - Local Borough of Enfield

Enfield Council asked Inclusion to provide a comprehensive evidence base of the labour market conditions in the Borough and to use this evidence to inform an action plan of interventions that will increase the Borough’s employment rate, increase skill levels and meet the emerging needs of employers.

Local labour market analysis - National Audit Office

Commissioned to provide context for the NAO’s value for money studies on workless households and ethnic minority employment strategies as well as exploring why unemployment persists in many areas alongside relatively high levels of employment vacancy.

Credit, debt and financial inclusion

A review of coping strategies employed by households in fuel poverty - Energywatch
Inclusion conducted a literature review of current studies that have examined the budgetary and behavioural strategies that vulnerable fuel poor households employ to cope with fuel poverty and the effects these have on welfare.

Vulnerable and excluded groups

Temporary and vulnerable workers: interviews and data analysis - TUC CoVE

Qualitative interviews carried out with temporary and vulnerable workers to feed into larger TUC Cove project.

Development of a tool to calculate the financial advantage of being in-work as opposed to on benefits.
