New Deal returners in Northern Ireland

Department for Employment and Learning (Northern Ireland)

The aim of this research was to provide a better understanding of the reasons why some people return to New Deal, and to have a deeper insight into the characteristics and labour market experiences of returners in Northern Ireland.

The research involved a survey of returners across Northern Ireland who are on-programme in a defined period. The research built on the experience of evaluating StepUP – the GB pilot for New Deal returners. The views of providers and other stakeholders were also assessed through interviews and focus groups.
