Characteristics and impact of migrant workers from A8 countries

Learning and Skills Council (Yorks & Humber)

This project was undertaken with our partners Experian Business Strategies for the LSC in Yorkshire and the Humber examining the economic migrant population in the region. The project involved an examination of the skills, expectations, issues and support needs of recent migrants and the barriers they face in the labour market.

Inclusion carried out primary research with migrant workers, employers and recruitment agencies, including focus groups and interviews, to explore the views of migrants. The purpose of the focus groups was to improve the LSC’s understanding of the needs of migrant workers and the ways in which they can contribute to the economy.
