G20 commits to creating employment opportunities in response to the economic crisis

3-4-09

In its final communiqué, the G20 has committed to supporting those affected by the economic crisis, primarily by creating employment opportunities and providing income support. Other measures to which they’ve committed include: creating a family-friendly labour market for men and women; investing in education and training; and embracing active labour market policies which focus on the most vulnerable. The group has called on the International Labour Organisation to assess the actions that have already been taken and set out those which are needed for the future.
