Flexible new deal providers bid despite credit crunch
The number of providers bidding for the flexible new deal remains healthy despite the current economic climate, according to the Financial Times. Figures released by the Department for Work and Pensions show that seven of the 31 shortlisted organisations have pulled out of the process. Some large providers have cut back on the number of areas they are bidding to cover, such as WorkDirections and the Wise Group.
Some smaller, not for profit and third sector organisations have pulled out of the running, in spite of the Government's aim to develop their role.
