Michela is a Researcher at Inclusion and she has six years of policy research experience in the fields of learning, employability, homelessness, equality and diversity, ethnicity and migration. She has specific expertise in qualitative methods including computer-aided analysis.

Since joining Inclusion, Michela has been involved in designing, conducting and managing several projects exploring the employment disadvantage of homeless people, migrant workers, ethnic minority groups and lone parents. Recently, she has carried out qualitative interviews for two large-scale Department for Work and Pensions evaluations: In Work Credit and Lone Parents Obligations.

Prior to joining Inclusion, Michela worked at Ealing, Hammersmith and West London College where she has conducted qualitative research with young people, refugees, asylum seekers and people from minority ethnic groups, along with managing and designing student satisfaction surveys and minority ethnic student surveys. She has also worked for EduAction, an education research consultancy agency, and the Office for National Statistics.

She is currently undertaking a PhD at the University of East Anglia looking at the impact of family and school on the identity of young British Muslims from South Asian backgrounds.

Michela has experience of using SPSS, Endnote, Atlas-ti and Nvivo 8 qualitative analysis software.
