Youth Secure Streets

Working with at-risk youth to devise an anti-violence campaign

Inclusion has received funding from the European Commission's Daphne programme to develop a project which shares ideas and best practice about interventions to reduce serious youth violence. The project aims to develop local campaigns to engage young people and to deter other young people from violence. Inclusion is working in conjunction with local authorities and non-profit organisations in London (City of Westminster), Abruzzo and Pescara in Italy and Cordoba in Spain. Inclusion is leading on the London strand of the project and is working with Westminster to run the community engagement element of the project. Local young people aged 13-19 are working alongside graphic design and media production companies to gain new skills and develop publicity material including film, music and pamphlets spreading the anti-violence message. The project will culminate in a campaign week beginning February 18th.
